Editorial Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
TikTokCalc is committed to providing accurate, transparent, and useful information about TikTok monetization. This Editorial Policy outlines the standards and processes we follow to maintain the quality and integrity of our calculator tools and educational content.
Our Editorial Standards
All content published on TikTokCalc adheres to these principles:
- Accuracy: Every factual claim is verified against current platform documentation, official announcements, or established industry data before publication
- Transparency: We clearly distinguish between verified facts, industry estimates, and our own projections. Calculator outputs are always labeled as estimates, not guarantees
- Independence: Our content and calculator algorithms are developed independently. We are not paid by TikTok, influencer agencies, or any platform to produce favorable estimates
- Usefulness: Every piece of content and every calculator feature must provide genuine value to the reader or user. We do not publish content solely for search engine traffic
- Clarity: We write in clear, direct language. Complex concepts like CPM, RPM, and engagement rate formulas are explained in plain terms with practical examples
Research and Data Sources
Our calculator models and educational content draw from the following types of sources:
- Platform Documentation: TikTok's official creator resources, help center articles, and publicly available program guidelines
- Industry Reports: Published research from social media analytics firms, influencer marketing platforms, and digital advertising associations
- Aggregated Creator Data: Publicly shared earnings data and rate information from verified creators across multiple platforms
- Advertising Benchmarks: CPM and engagement rate data from advertising industry standard sources
We do not use proprietary TikTok data, scrape private accounts, or access any non-public API endpoints. All data inputs to our models come from publicly accessible sources.
Calculator Methodology
Each calculator on our site uses a documented formula that we explain on its dedicated page. Our methodology follows these principles:
- Formulas are based on standard industry calculation methods, not proprietary "black box" algorithms
- Every variable (CPM rate, niche multiplier, engagement factor) is explained and its source identified
- We provide worked examples with specific numbers so users can verify calculations independently
- We acknowledge the limitations of each calculator and list factors that our models cannot account for
Fact-Checking Process
Before publishing or updating any content, we follow this review process:
- Research: The author gathers data from multiple sources and cross-references key figures
- Draft Review: Content is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
- Rate Verification: Any CPM, sponsorship, or monetization figures are checked against the most current available data
- Publication: Content is published with a "Last updated" date and reviewed periodically
Update Frequency
We review and update our content on the following schedule:
- Calculator rate tables: Reviewed quarterly or whenever TikTok announces significant policy changes
- Educational articles: Reviewed at least every six months for accuracy
- Legal and policy pages: Updated whenever our practices change or new regulatory requirements apply
Every page displays a "Last updated" date so users can assess the currency of the information.
Corrections Policy
If we discover an error in our content or calculations, we correct it promptly and update the "Last updated" date. For material corrections that affect calculator outputs, we note the change in the relevant page. If a user reports an error, we investigate and respond within a reasonable timeframe. To report an error or suggest a correction, contact us at support@tiktokcalc.org.
Advertising and Sponsored Content
Our website may display advertisements through third-party ad networks. Advertising revenue supports the free operation of our tools. Advertisements are clearly distinguishable from our editorial content. We do not allow advertisers to influence our calculator algorithms, rate tables, or editorial content. Our recommendations and estimates are based solely on data and methodology, not commercial relationships.

We welcome feedback from our users. If you believe any information on our site is inaccurate, outdated, or misleading, please contact us at support@tiktokcalc.org. User feedback directly shapes our content improvement priorities.
